Home of the Brave Launches “Sticker Shock Summer,” a New $15 Million Education Campaign in Illinois

WASHINGTONMonday, June 8, 2026 – Today, Home of the Brave launched Sticker Shock Summer,” a new $15 million education and mobilization campaign focused on how the Trump administration’s policies are making life more expensive for the American people. We are running billboards and video ads across Illinois throughout the summer, due to the massive price increases being experienced by Illinoisians for gas, groceries, and more.

The campaign has two goals: first, to educate Americans on how the administration’s tariffs, war in Iran, One Big Beautiful Bill Act, and other policies have directly contributed to the affordability crisis; and second, to turn their hopelessness into action by calling on lawmakers in Congress and the administration to pursue reforms that bring costs down.

In our inaugural $1 million ad blitz, Home of the Brave is putting up billboards in Illinois and 15 other states, which highlight how Americans are paying more because of the administration’s policies. The billboards can be viewed here. You are free to use these images with credit to Home of the Brave:

The campaign will also feature three video advertisements: a one-minute ad outlining how the administration’s policies have raised costs, a 30-second ad showing how summer vacations have gotten more expensive this year, and an additional 30-second ad spoofing the famous “rollback” advertisements of the 1990s. The ads will run on digital platforms nationwide—including across Illinois—and can be viewed here.

As part of the effort, the Sticker Shock Summer campaign will also amplify the voices of Americans who are feeling these rising costs firsthand. The campaign will feature a man-on-the-street style video compilation of people fed up with gas prices.

Sticker Shock Summer will center on a simple reality: Summer is supposed to be a season of vacations, barbecues, road trips, and a little breathing room. But for millions of Americans, the cost of summer fun has gone up. Gas, flights, hotels, restaurants, groceries, electricity, and everyday seasonal items are all more expensive—and the Trump administration’s policy choices are a major reason why.

The campaign website will feature articles explaining how policy decisions made by Trump have made inflation worse, not better. The site will also include an interactive tool showing how summer goods have gotten more expensive this year, from the cooler for a camping trip to back-to-school items like colored pencils and glue sticks. Visitors will be able to directly contact their representatives and senators and urge them to support legislation that would roll back inflationary tariffs and limit the administration’s authority to continue the war in Iran, which is directly responsible for historic spikes in gas prices and collateral consumer price increases.
